June 27 YNP: Training Nashville’s Volunteer Leaders

Thanks to Industrious, the June Young Nonprofit Professionals (YNP) event will be free to attend! See below for details:

As young professionals in Nashville, it is easy to get caught in the daily grind. We go to work early, leave late, and somehow find time to meet new people and enjoy events around town. Your schedule may be full of opportunities to advance your career, connect with others, and have a little fun, but are you also taking the time to give back to the community in tangible and impactful ways?

If you’re searching for ways to give back in Nashville, come to CNM’s June YNP event to learn more about the hundreds of local volunteer opportunities that will allow you to make an impact in our city. Learn about ongoing community needs, service opportunities, and ways that you can take on a leadership role in the Nashville volunteer community.

This event will feature Julie Abbott, the Community Partner Program Manager at Hands on Nashville, as she talks about HON’s crucial role as a capacity builder for volunteer programs in Nashville. HON has about 300 opportunities a month on their calendar and about 2000 volunteer signups. In 2017 HON connected or referred over 106,000 volunteers to service projects in Middle Tennessee. She will introduce you to the Hands On Connect platform for volunteer engagement in Nashville and teach us all how to become “team leaders” so we can recruit our friends and colleagues to make an even greater impact.

This event will be hosted by Industrious, a provider of premium coworking and shared office space here in Nashville. They are opening up a new location downtown and were willing to host our event and provide the food and drink for the evening!
