Local Sam’s Club provides job training for people with disabilities

Sam’s Club partners with Waves to teach job skills

The Franklin Sam’s Club has partnered with Waves to create a vocational skills training program for adults with disabilities. The program participants were introduced to variety of skills including: interacting with shoppers, arranging visual displays, and working the cash register.

Since Sam’s Club has a wide variety of jobs under one roof, they have provided the individuals in the program to explore their personal interests. This has empowered the people supported by Waves to consider what jobs they might like, as well as what skills they possess. The program was established in June 2017 and will conclude with a graduation on February 16. A new class of 6-8 individuals will start the program in February.
