Brentwood Ranked as Tennessee’s Safest City

Brentwood has been ranked #1 as the safest Tennessee City by the National Council for Home Safety and Security.

A state with natural beauty, cultural heritage, and deep history: Tennessee has it all. Capital and largest city Nashville has long been the center of the country music world, while Memphis is where many great soul, blues and rock n’ roll musicians made a name for themselves. Other tourist destinations abound, including the Great Smokey Mountains National Park (the nation’s most visited), and numerous Civil War battlefields.

  • 9.45 Average violent crime per 1,000
  • 39.33 Average property crime per 1,000
Brentwood earns the title of the safest city in Tennessee. The affluent suburb of Nashville is the home of many country music greats, and boasts a violent crime rate many times lower than the state average. Spring Hill (#2) is a bit further out at 30 miles south of Nashville. The community of 37,599 dates back to 1808 and has a property crime rate of less than 10 incidents per 1,000.

Much smaller than the preceding two entries on the list, Collegedale (#3) is a suburb of Chattanooga and home to Southern Adventist University. We move east to Germantown, a suburb of Memphis, for number four on the list. Named “Tree City USA” by the Arbor Day Foundation for over 20 consecutive years, Germantown’s violent crime rate is over fifteen times smaller than nearby Memphis. Mount Juliet, another well-to-do suburb of Nashville, rounds out the list at #5.
