DESCRIPTION:Spring Lantern Hike\nFriday\, April 4\, 2025\n7:30 – 9:30 pm \nCost: $18 / person\nAges 12+. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. \nGate opens 30 minutes before program start. Program begins promptly at noted time. No late entries. No exceptions.\nPack dinner and arrive early to picnic on the grounds. We are a pack-in/pack-out facility – please plan to take your trash with you.\nCome along on a nighttime adventure! We’ll explore the woods at night by lantern light\, listen for the sounds of nocturnal animals including owls\, coyotes\, crickets and frogs\, and share stories about the history of Owl’s Hill. \nThis program is for adventurers who are looking for a longer hike than our typical evening programs. The route is 1.5 miles of moderately challenging natural surface trail. Participants can expect moderate uphill and downhill hiking as well as areas of uneven terrain. Once the hike departs\, participants are expected to stay with the group for the duration of the hike. \nClosed-toe shoes suitable for hiking are strongly recommended. \nFor the safety and comfort of all participants\, participants are not permitted to carry additional sources of light (headlamps\, flashlights\, etc.). Lanterns will be provided.

The plan envisions an integrated greenway system that links neighborhoods\, schools\, parks\, and key destinations\, while preserving the county’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. \nThis planning effort is federally funded through the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) grant program\, which supports projects that enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety\, improve mobility\, and reduce roadway conflicts. In addition to the Multi-modal Greenways Plan\, Williamson County is also working on a separate\, but coordinated planning effort\, the Countywide Safety Action Plan\, which will focus on improving roadway safety\, including reducing and eliminating serious-injury and fatal crashes affecting all roadway users. \nFor the Multi-modal Greenways Plan\, Williamson County\, in partnership with the planning consultant Design Workshop\, Inc.\, will engage residents\, local leaders\, and stakeholders to shape a vision for the greenways plan. Meet one of our amphibian ambassadors and hit the trail to look for spring frogs and salamanders! \nTuesday\, April 15\, 2025\nOpen to Ages 10+\nOur 10+ program days are designed for older students and cover more advanced material.
