SUMMARY:Lantern Hike at Owl’s Hill
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, September 20\, 2024\n7 – 9 pm\nFriday\, November 1\, 2024\n6 – 8 pm \nCost: $18 / person\nAges 12+. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. \nGate opens 30 minutes before program start. Program begins promptly at noted time. No late entries. No exceptions.\nPack dinner and arrive early to picnic on the grounds. We are a pack-in/pack-out facility – please plan to take your trash with you.\nCome along on a nighttime adventure! We’ll explore the woods at night by lantern light\, listen for the sounds of nocturnal animals including owls\, coyotes\, crickets and frogs\, and share stories about the history of Owl’s Hill. \nThis program is for adventurers who are looking for a longer hike than our typical evening programs. The route is 1.5 miles of moderately challenging natural surface trail. Participants can expect moderate uphill and downhill hiking as well as areas of uneven terrain. Once the hike departs\, participants are expected to stay with the group for the duration of the hike. \nClosed-toe shoes suitable for hiking are strongly recommended.\nFor the safety and comfort of all participants\, participants are not permitted to carry additional sources of light (headlamps\, flashlights\, etc.). Lanterns will be provided.

Our two programs are The Academy\, where we house and rehabilitate up to 11 male veterans\, and Project Advance\, where we provide rent/mortgage/utility assistance to veterans at-risk of becoming homeless. \nOur goal in 2024 is to purchase a second property where we can at least double our housing capacity. We currently have a waitlist for men to join the Academy Program. \nThe 2024 American Heroes Gala is taking place on September 14\, 2024 at Liberty Hall in Franklin\, TN. The evening includes dinner\, drinks\, a silent & live auction\, raffle\, and live entertainment. Dinner provided by Halls Chophouse with entertainment provided by Jim Brown and special guest Gary Chapman. \nWe have an ambitious goal of $200\,000 for this year’s gala.
