DESCRIPTION:Golf with Mercy to raise funds for Mercy Community Healthcare. This year’s golf outing will be held at Westhaven Golf Club on Monday\, May 13th. Registration opens at 11am\, lunch will be provided at 11:45am\, and shotgun start is at 1pm. \nPlayers raise $5\,000 for their team using a peer-to-peer fundraising model. This means they ask their friends and family to support them at Golf with Mercy. Mercy Community Healthcare must raise approximately $1 million each year to sustain its current level of patient care. The cost for one visit for primary medical care or mental health counseling for someone without insurance at Mercy is $125. The funding raised from Golf with Mercy is designated for general expenses\, so it’s used where help is needed the most.

Tremendous gains have been made in the understanding of the science and basic biology underlying Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The Alzheimer’s Association is a global leader in research\, mobilizing the field to advance the vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. DESCRIPTION:Hartzog & Silva\, PLLC presents the Star Bright Players (ages 12-18) production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame\, a lushly scored retelling of Victor Hugo’s epic story of love\, acceptance and what it means to be a hero. Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature\, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score\, as well as new songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. Peter Parnell’s book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Hugo’s gothic novel. The musical begins as the bells of Notre Dame sound through the famed cathedral in fifteenth-century Paris. Quasimodo\, the deformed bell-ringer who longs to be “Out There\,” observes all of Paris reveling in the Feast of Fools. Held captive by his devious caretaker\, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo\, he escapes for the day and joins the boisterous crowd\, only to be treated cruelly by all but the beautiful Romani woman\, Esmeralda.
