SUMMARY:Franklin Tomorrow Breakfast With the Mayors
DESCRIPTION:Join Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson and Franklin Mayor Dr. Ken Moore for the final installment of Franklin Tomorrow’s Breakfast With the Mayors on Tuesday\, Nov. 7\, at Rolling Hills Community Church.\nJoining Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson and Franklin Mayor Dr. Ken Moore that morning will be Dr. Randy Lowry\, former president of Lipscomb University and a nationally recognized expert in conflict resolution. He will speak on the topic\, “Peace Is Not the Absence of Conflict\,” a reflection on while increasingly diverse communities will have difficult moments\, even conflict\, peace will not be achieved by trying to eliminate differences but by dealing with differences in ways that are effective\, efficient and respectful.\nBreakfast With the Mayors is presented quarterly by Pinnacle Financial Partners and Gresham Smith\, along with our Sustaining Partners\, Williamson Health and Atmos Energy.\nTo RSVP\, go to https://Nov72023bwtm.eventbrite.com.\nComing to Nashville in 2005\, Lowry had a dramatic influence on both that university and the Nashville community. At Lipscomb\, he nearly doubled the enrollment to almost 6000 students\, tripled the revenue\, instituted more than 50 new academic programs\, literally re-built its Green Hills campus and moved the University from a Regional Masters institution to a National Research University – one of the top 200 in the country.\nMost of us may not know that\, before becoming a university president\, Dr. Lowry was trained as a lawyer and engaged in the legal field as a tenured professor of law at Pepperdine University in California. For almost 20 years he was also a professional mediator. He founded the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution which – according to U.S. News. – has been the nation’s number program in the that field for the last 30 years. Dr. Lowry has taught\, provided professional training or mediated on six continents. While committed to higher education\, he is passionate about the resolution of conflict and reconciliation between people.\nTo learn more about Lowry and his work with Tennessee Resettlement Aid and as a “settlement consultant” with Lanier Law Firm\, visit the Franklin Tomorrow website\, www.franklintomorrow.org.\nBreakfast With the Mayors begins at 7 a.m. with a 45-minute networking breakfast provided by Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant and coffee provided by Lyon Leadership Group\, the local operator of McDonald’s.\nBreakfast With the Mayors is presented by our co-presenting partners\, Pinnacle Financial Partners and Gresham Smith. Additional support comes from FirstBank\, Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Services\, Hazen and Sawyer\, Williamson County Association of REALTORS\, Vulcan Materials\, and UHY Certified Public Accountants (formerly Patterson Hardee Ballentine CPAs). Joining in for November as partners are Tennessee Valley Authority and Middle Tennessee Electric.\nThere is no cost to attend Breakfast With the Mayors thanks to the support of our generous partners.\nAgain\, to RSVP\, go to https://Nov72023bwtm.eventbrite.com
