DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 14\, 2026 \nMorning Session: 10 am – 12:30 pm\nAfternoon Session: 1:30 – 3:30 pm\nThe same program will be presented at the morning and afternoon sessions. \n$45/ group of 2 (includes one nest box kit)\n$35/ individual adult (includes one nest box kit)\n$10/ additional child under 18 (does not include a nest box kit – must be purchased in conjunction with a group or individual registration) \nIncludes:\nBluebird nest box kit and instructor-led build\nBluebird presentation\nGuided hike \nPrepare the way for this spring’s bluebirds with a brand new nest box. Hike the bluebird nest box trail at Owl’s Hill and learn how this simple\, but critical research project helped bring the Eastern bluebird from a threatened species to a common backyard bird. Build its own bluebird nest box in preparation of spring and learn how to find the perfect spot for you to mount it in your yard. \nThis program is designed with adults and teens in mind. Suitable for ages 7 and up.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 21\, 2026\nSession 1: 9:30 am – 12 pm\nSession 2: 1 – 3:30 pm\nThe same program will be presented at the morning and afternoon sessions. \nCost: $40\nIncludes:\n– Up to 2 people per registration\n– One (1) mushroom cultivation kit\n– Guided hike \nPre-registration is required. \nLearn the basics of mushroom cultivation for edible oyster mushrooms\, and a bit about the biology and ecology of fungus. Participants will learn how to get started growing mushrooms at home and will assemble an easy to care for oyster grow kit to take home. The program concludes with a short mushroom identification and appreciation hike. \nThis program is designed with adults and teens in mind. Suitable for ages 7 and up.

DESCRIPTION:We’ve set aside program days specifically for Homeschool families\, co-ops and pods to experience hands-on learning at Owl’s Hill. \nTuesday\, February 24\, 2026\nSuitable for Ages 5+\nSession I: Predators: Part of the Picture 10-11:30 am\nLearn about carnivores\, hunters\, and predators\, the adaptations animals have for catching prey and why predators help maintain the delicate balance of nature. \nSession II: Animals in Winter 1-2:30 pm\nObserve cold weather adaptations of native plants and animals and compare cold weather strategies like hibernation and migration. \nTuesday\, March 24\, 2026\nSuitable for Ages 5+\nSession I: Feathered Friends 10-11:30 am\nLearn about the characteristics\, habitats\, adaptations and migrations of birds. \nSession II: Discover Nature 1-2:30 pm\nUse your senses to observe the plants\, animals\, and habitats of Owl’s Hill. \nTuesday\, April 21\, 2026\nSuitable for Ages 5+\nSession I: Butterflies 10-11:30 am\nLearn about the lifecycles of butterflies and take an hike to practice identifying butterflies and caterpillars. \nSession II: Wildflowers 1-2:30 pm\nFind out why flowers are not just another pretty face in the forest. Learn how to identify wildflowers and the roles they play as food for wildlife. \nCost is $15 per person (student or adult) per session. All-ages programs are designed for children ages 5+. Siblings 2 and under are free. Advance registration is required for all participants (students\, adults and siblings 3 and over). All children must be accompanied by a registered adult. \nNo walk-ups. \nPrograms begin promptly at 10 am and 1:00 pm. Late arrivals may result in reduced programming. \nMorning programs may be followed by lunch or a snack in our orchard picnic area at no additional charge. We are a carry-in/carry-out facility. Groups using the orchard picnic area must bring a trash bag to carry out your trash.
