DESCRIPTION:We’ve set aside program days specifically for Homeschool families\, co-ops and pods to experience hands-on learning at Owl’s Hill. \nTuesday\, February 24\, 2026\nSuitable for Ages 5+\nSession I: Predators: Part of the Picture 10-11:30 am\nLearn about carnivores\, hunters\, and predators\, the adaptations animals have for catching prey and why predators help maintain the delicate balance of nature. \nSession II: Animals in Winter 1-2:30 pm\nObserve cold weather adaptations of native plants and animals and compare cold weather strategies like hibernation and migration. \nTuesday\, March 24\, 2026\nSuitable for Ages 5+\nSession I: Feathered Friends 10-11:30 am\nLearn about the characteristics\, habitats\, adaptations and migrations of birds. \nSession II: Discover Nature 1-2:30 pm\nUse your senses to observe the plants\, animals\, and habitats of Owl’s Hill. \nTuesday\, April 21\, 2026\nSuitable for Ages 5+\nSession I: Butterflies 10-11:30 am\nLearn about the lifecycles of butterflies and take an hike to practice identifying butterflies and caterpillars. \nSession II: Wildflowers 1-2:30 pm\nFind out why flowers are not just another pretty face in the forest. Learn how to identify wildflowers and the roles they play as food for wildlife. \nCost is $15 per person (student or adult) per session. All-ages programs are designed for children ages 5+. Siblings 2 and under are free. Advance registration is required for all participants (students\, adults and siblings 3 and over). All children must be accompanied by a registered adult. \nNo walk-ups. \nPrograms begin promptly at 10 am and 1:00 pm. Late arrivals may result in reduced programming. \nMorning programs may be followed by lunch or a snack in our orchard picnic area at no additional charge. We are a carry-in/carry-out facility. Geocaches are hidden in containers that can be found using a GPS or smartphone. Head out on our kid-friendly course set up with caches ready to be found. (We’ll also have a couple more challenging caches for anyone looking for extra adventure.) Hike around in the woods and see what you can find. No experience necessary!\nBring your own GPS device or use your smartphone with Google Maps installed to find the caches. Participants are welcome to bring tradeables (small toys or trinkets) to leave or exchange in caches. \nCheck in between 10 am and 1 pm. Trails are open for geocaching until 3 pm. The gate closes promptly at 3 pm. \nPlanning to bring a picnic? You are welcome to use the picnic tables in our orchard. Please plan to carry out your trash.

DESCRIPTION:Friday\, December 5\, 2025\nHike Time 6 – 8 pm \nIf the date you wish to attend is sold out\, you may fill out our waitlist form on our website. \nCost: $18 / person \nAges 12+ only. Minors (ages 12 – 17) must be accompanied by an adult. \nParticipants under the age of 12 will not be admitted to the program and no refunds will be issued. \nGate opens 30 minutes before program start. Program begins promptly at noted time. No late entries. No exceptions. \nPack dinner and arrive early to picnic on the grounds. We are a pack-in/pack-out facility – please plan to take your trash with you. \nCome along on a nighttime adventure! We’ll explore the woods at night by lantern light\, listen for the sounds of nocturnal animals including owls\, coyotes\, crickets and frogs\, and share stories about the history of Owl’s Hill. \nThis program is for adventurers who are looking for a longer hike than our typical evening programs. The route is 1.5 miles of moderately challenging natural surface trail. Participants can expect moderate uphill and downhill hiking as well as areas of uneven terrain. Once the hike departs\, participants are expected to stay with the group for the duration of the hike. \nClosed-toe shoes suitable for hiking are strongly recommended. \nFor the safety and comfort of all participants\, participants are not permitted to carry additional sources of light (headlamps\, flashlights\, etc.). Lanterns will be provided.

We’ll explore the woods at night by lantern light\, listen for the sounds of nocturnal animals including owls\, coyotes\, crickets and frogs\, and share stories about the history of Owl’s Hill. \nThis program is for adventurers who are looking for a longer hike than our typical evening programs. The route is 1.5 miles of moderately challenging natural surface trail. Participants can expect moderate uphill and downhill hiking as well as areas of uneven terrain. Once the hike departs\, participants are expected to stay with the group for the duration of the hike. \nClosed-toe shoes suitable for hiking are strongly recommended. \nFor the safety and comfort of all participants\, participants are not permitted to carry additional sources of light (headlamps\, flashlights\, etc.). Lanterns will be provided.

Each week has a different focus emphasizing working together through discovery\, crafts\, and outdoor exploration. \nNo strollers or unregistered siblings\, please. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Fees are per adult/child pair for one 4- or 6-week series (spring\, summer\, or fall).

DESCRIPTION:We’ve set aside program days specifically for Homeschool families\, co-ops and pods to experience hands-on learning at Owl’s Hill. \nFall 2025 Homeschool Programs \nTuesday\, September 30\, 2025\nSuitable for Ages 5+  \nSession I: Meet an Owl 10-11:30 am\nMeet our non-releasable education owls and discover the varied habitats and adaptations of native owls.  \nSession II: Insect Adventure 1-2:30 pm\nDiscover our smallest wildlife and learn about the important roles they play in our ecosystems. \nTuesday\, October 14\, 2025\nSuitable for Ages 5+  \nSession I: Food Webs 10-11:30 am\nThe balance of nature. When you figure out the food chain in an ecosystem\, you can see how the animals\, plants\, and their habitat are connected.  \nSession II: Reptile & Amphibian Discovery 1-2:30 pm\nLearn all about reptile and amphibian characteristics. Meet one of our reptile ambassadors and hit the trail to learn about reptile and amphibian habitats and life cycles. \nCost is $15 per person (student or adult) per session. All-ages programs are designed for children ages 5+. Siblings 2 and under are free. Advance registration is required for all participants (students\, adults and siblings 3 and over). All children must be accompanied by a registered adult. \nNo walk-ups.
