Blood Assurance collecting convalescent plasma donor at Williamson County Medical Center
Stokes Nielson will be donating convalescent plasma at Williamson Medical Center as part of a new treatment for COVID-19. Stokes is donating in honor of Joe Diffie who he had the pleasure of playing with, and who was a great mentor to many country music artists. COVID-19 convalescent plasma is an FDA investigational treatment where plasma is transfused from a recovered COVID-19 donor into a critically ill patient. Blood Assurance is collecting this plasma in an effort to save critically ill patients and will be collecting, processing and shipping the plasma to patients in need. Blood Assurance is the only blood center in Tennessee who has collected and shipped convalescent plasma at this time.
