Interested in Elevating Your Home Following the March Flooding? City of Brentwood Hosts Public Meeting June 29

Brentwood, Tenn. — A public information meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29 at 6:00pm on the second floor of Brentwood City Hall located at 5211 Maryland Way.  This meeting is designed for residents of homes that received flood damage and are interested in the acquisition and/or elevation of their homes through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) is administered by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  The program provides federal funding assistance for a range of mitigation projects, including for individual properties that have experienced damage from flood events.

The City of Brentwood will be seeking HGMP funds to acquire and/or elevate structures within the community that have suffered flood damage.  The purpose of the public information meeting is to provide an overview of the hazard mitigation grant program and the program requirements, provide an update on initial benefit-cost eligibility determinations, assess public interest in participation, and address questions and concerns about the grant application process.

If you have additional questions, you may contact the City of Brentwood Planning Department at 615-371-2204 or via email at todd.petrowski@brentwoodtn.gov or visit www.brentwoodtn.gov/flooddamage.
