“50 States in 50 Days” Pickleball for Mental Health Awareness
Bon Aqua, TN, (Nov. 9, 2024)- Paddle Creek Pickleball Resort welcomed Chong Kim (CK) on
Saturday night, marking the 48th stop in his ambitious goal to play pickleball in “50 States in 50
Days” to promote mental health awareness, with a focus on men’s mental health. Sparked by
the loss of his pickleball partner to suicide earlier this year, CK embarked on this tour as a way
to honor his friend’s memory and to shine a light on the importance of enhancing mental health
through the community of pickleball.
Despite the rainy evening, CK was able to continue his mission thanks to Paddle Creek’s
state-of-the-art facility, featuring four indoor, professional-quality pickleball courts. Guests
included CK’s family friends and Franklin’s Music City Pickleball manager, Sam Bryant, and
President, Lisa Steinke; all gathered to support and welcome CK to Tennessee.
Blake Wilke, the owner of Paddle Creek Resort, provided a warm Tennessee welcome with a
tour of the facility and a unique “glow in the dark” pickleball demonstration—a special feature
Paddle Creek offers as part of its innovative pickleball experience. “I was honored to meet CK
and be part of his amazing journey to support his friend through the love of pickleball,” said
Wilke.
