A Spotlight on Sustainability:
City eWaste’s initiative aims to merge leadership, community, and sustainability in one powerful day – helping the conference embody its theme of Thrive in 2025.
“Our purpose has always been to make eWaste recycling accessible, secure, and impactful for every community we serve,” said Matthew Rogers, CEO of City eWaste.
“With over 300 business leaders gathered, each bringing even one item to recycle means hundreds of electronics kept out of our local landfills in a single day – and when those leaders carry sustainable practices back to their companies, the ripple effect multiplies far beyond this event for our community.”

About City eWaste:
City eWaste is reframing electronic waste from being “just trash” into a stream of untapped value. Traditionally, Tennesseans have thought of old electronics as clutter that ends up in a landfill. We’re changing that mindset by showing that eWaste is both a resource and an opportunity.
Based in Franklin TN, City eWaste makes electronics recycling simple for households and businesses with convenient drop-offs, pickups, and municipal partnerships. Every device collected is an opportunity to rehome (maximizing the lifespan of electronics) or recover valuable materials (into the local manufacturing chain); all the while creating steady employment in our communities.
By launching the nation’s first eWaste franchise right here in Tennessee, we’re creating a blueprint for counties across the state to scale sustainable recycling programs without relying on limited municipal budgets. Tennessee isn’t just managing eWaste anymore – it’s pioneering how the rest of the country can tackle it.
Since 2018, we’ve been selected by 300+ businesses in Middle Tennessee as the trusted local partner for IT and electronics recycling. We’ve helped 146,000 residents in Middle Tennessee give a better afterlife to their unwanted electronics, saving 220 tons of eWaste from ending up in the landfill. Over the last four and a half years, we’ve worked with the City of Franklin BOPAE department to streamline the most efficient ways to recycle residential electronics.
