Local Nonprofit Waves, Inc. to Host “Brews & Grooves” Fundraiser Featuring Headliner Poor Lisa

Franklin, TN (August 20, 2025) — Waves, Inc., a leading nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Middle Tennessee, is thrilled to announce the return of its signature fundraising event: Brews & Grooves: A Concert Benefiting Waves. The event will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. CDT, at Highwoods Park Place, located at 711 Cool Springs Boulevard in Franklin, TN.
This year’s event will feature a full evening of live music, food trucks, local brews, and community connection—with special excitement around the newly announced headline band Poor Lisa, a high-energy local favorite known for drawing big crowds and even bigger support for causes that matter.
In addition to Poor Lisa, performances will include Backlight Productions and several Waves participants, whose musical talents and stories reflect the heart of Waves’ mission.
“Brews & Grooves is not just a night of great music and fun,” said Staci Davis, CEO of Waves, Inc. “It’s a powerful opportunity for our community to come together in support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Every ticket purchased, every auction item bid on, helps us raise critical funds—and more importantly, awareness—for the services and support our individuals and families rely on every day.”
Attendees can expect:
● Live entertainment featuring Poor Lisa, Backlight Productions, and Waves participants
● Food & dessert trucks: Roscoe’s Barbecue, Smokey Dawggs, and Frios Pops
● Craft brews & wine
● Family-friendly fun, including lawn games hosted by GamesToGo
● A robust silent auction with one-of-a-kind experiences and prizes

Proceeds from Brews & Grooves directly fund Waves’ essential programs and operations, including early intervention therapy, adult day services, life-skills coaching, residential care, and supported employment—serving more than 500 children and 57 adults across the Middle Tennessee region at one time.
