Young Leaders Council Opens Applications for Fall 2026 Williamson County Cohort
Williamson County, Tenn. — Young Leaders Council (YLC) is now accepting applications for its Fall 2026 Williamson County Cohort, an immersive leadership development program designed to prepare emerging leaders for meaningful service on nonprofit boards throughout the community. Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at midnight.
For more than 40 years, YLC has equipped diverse, committed individuals with the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to become effective nonprofit board members and community leaders. Through its 11-week training program, participants gain a deeper understanding of nonprofit governance, strategic planning, fundraising, financial stewardship, legal responsibilities, and the many ways individuals can make a lasting impact through civic engagement.
Following the classroom portion of the program, graduates are matched with a local nonprofit organization to complete a one-year board internship, serving as a non-voting board member while gaining real-world experience and contributing their skills to organizations making a difference across Middle Tennessee.
The Williamson County Cohort offers a unique opportunity for professionals who live, work, or serve in Williamson County and surrounding areas to build relationships with fellow community-minded leaders while gaining the tools and confidence to strengthen the local nonprofit sector.
“The strength of our community is so dependent on engaged leaders who are prepared and willing to step forward and serve,” said [Rachel Reyes, YLC Program Manager]. “The Williamson County Cohort creates a pathway for emerging leaders who live or work in Williamson County to deepen their connection to the community, expand their professional network, and develop the skills needed to make a meaningful impact.”
Individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Previous nonprofit board experience is not required. YLC welcomes those who are passionate about learning, growing as leaders, and investing their time and talents in the community.
The Fall 2026 Williamson County Cohort will meet on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. throughout the 11-week training period.
