Rockridge Venture Law “Best for the World” Award Announcement
Nashville, TN — Rockridge Venture Law®, a Certified B Corp, has been named a Best for the World™ B Corp award recipient for the third consecutive year. Ranking in the top 5% of all B Corps in its size group worldwide for sustainable business practices, Rockridge® earned this honor by focusing the firm’s energy on not just legal practice– but also social and environmental initiatives such as their: GIVE 10 commitment, social impact fellowship, river stewardship program, and regional social enterprise leadership. Rockridge is an intellectual property, technology, and venture law firm, with a mission to scale high impact companies and technologies while modeling a profitable framework of corporate social responsibility.
“The Best for the World designation is perhaps our proudest collective honor. I established the firm on B Corp principles with a vision to positively impact more than just our clients, but also to empower our staff, help steward the environments we touch, and to be good corporate citizens of our communities. Others have embraced this vision, and it’s no accident that we now have an amazing team working with companies and investors across the country, many of them mission-minded. Across the board, it’s our best effort for a more sustainable, just and innovative world.” -Kevin Christopher, Founder & Principal
The Best for the World recognition is administered by B Lab, the global nonprofit network that certifies and mobilizes Certified B Corporations, which are for-profit companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Today there are more than 4,000 Certified B Corporations across 77 countries and 153 industries, unified by one common goal: transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. The B Corp Certification doesn’t just evaluate a product or service, it assesses the overall positive impact of the company that stands behind it—like Rockridge. Using the B Impact Assessment, B Lab evaluates how a company’s operations and business model impact its workers, community, environment, and customers. To achieve the B Corp Certification, a company must achieve a score of at least 80 points on the assessment.
More than 800 B Corps from more than 50 countries were identified in the 2021 Best for the World lists, including 4G Capital, KeepCup, Natura, The Big Issue Group, TOMS, Too Good To Go, and Patagonia. The 2021 Best for the World lists are determined based on the verified B Impact Assessments of Certified B Corporations. The full lists are available on https://bcorporation.net/.
